This project, approximately 24 inches by 40 inches in two panels, is installed as the second-floor landing window overlooking the foyer of the owner's home, where daylight can highlight its birthday morning motif. A gift from spouse to spouse, it incorporates a permanent birthday wish in glass.

The detail at left shows how perfectly the stained glass medium can reproduce nature's showiest elements, in this case the iridescence of a butterfly's wings.
